CBEY - CliMates: Climate Models 101: An introduction to how we know what we know about the future of our planet

If you enter the climate world, you’ll quickly come across someone or something talking about “climate models.” While you may think that climate models are kind of like weather predictions… they’re not.
This talk is a friendly intro — from a non-scientist with a good grasp of how they work — to what a climate model actually is, how scientists use them, and how they shape what we know about the planet’s future.

Shiv is a third-year YSE/SOM joint degree, pursuing his Master of Forestry with his MBA. Beyond his interest in trees, he has a keen interest in climate science, with a particular focus on atmospheric physics and machine learning for climate modeling, driven entirely by his partner’s work in using AI/ML for global climate models.
