Business meets biodiversity, discussion on making Yale more sustainable and bird-friendly

Each year, millions of birds die from collisions with glass buildings, and Evans Hall is no exception. With its large glass façade, the building presents challenges for bird safety. Between April 2018 and April 2022, over 400 birds from more than 50 species fatally collided with its expansive glass façade —but solutions exist. In collaboration with the Yale Bird-Friendly Building Initiative, Evans Hall’s management team has been monitoring the issue and implementing a pilot project using window films to reduce collisions.

Join us for a dynamic discussion with experts from the Yale Bird-Friendly Building Initiative, Evans Hall’s management team, and sustainability advocates. Learn about the impact of bird collisions, the progress made so far, and the next steps to make Evans Hall a model for sustainable design at Yale.
