Tuition, Payments & Discounts
Tuition & Payment Deadlines
Tuition for the 2026 Yale Clean and Equitable Energy certificate program is $4,500.
- Tuition payment is due in two installments of $2,250 each:
- December 12, 2025, 11:59 p.m. ET – Due date for enrollment and first tuition payment.
- February 16, 2026, 11:59 p.m. ET - Deadline to submit second tuition payment.
- There is no application fee or deposit. Should you be admitted to the CEED program, reserving your seat requires paying the first tuition installment in full and signing the Intent to Enroll form.
- January 18, 2026 is the last date to withdraw with a refund less a $500 cancellation fee.
Exceptions to the payment deadlines are made for participants that require special payment plans due to federal regulations (AmeriCorps, for instance). These special payment arrangements should be requested with CBEY.admissions@yale.edu as soon as possible, and before tuition payments are due.
Please refer to the CBEY Online Certificate Program Policies page for more information about deferrals, withdraws, and leaves of absence.
Tuition Discounts
Please note because this is a non-degree, not-for-credit program, traditional financial aid, including grants and student loans, is not available. However, we encourage you to enquire with your employer whether training and professional development funds may be applied to finance this program.

A small number of tuition discounts will be available, covering up to 20% of the tuition costs, for a handful of highly qualified, eligible candidates who apply for tuition discount consideration by the priority application deadline. These discounts are limited and competitively awarded. To be considered for a tuition discount, applicants must complete an essay within the program application and submit their completed application by the priority deadline. You will not be able to submit tuition discount request after you have submitted your program application.
You will not be asked to provide information about your financial status. Because admissions and discount decisions are evaluated holistically, we suggest you pay special attention to all aspects of the application, particularly your CV/resume and the application essays, to help us get to know you, your motivations for applying, your ability to succeed and contribute to the program, and potential for impact.
You will be notified of any discounts awarded at the time of your admissions decision.
