Ben Rothfuss  Dair

Benjamin Dair Rothfuss is formerly a Senior Manager of Conservation Finance at Sustainable Northwest in Portland, Oregon, where he works across program areas to accelerate project development and funding.

He graduated in May 2014 with a Master of Environmental Management (MEM) degree from the Yale School of Forestry and Environmental Studies. He investigated the potential of market incentives to improve conservation and valuation of ecosystem services, Ben’s interests lie at the economic intersection of environmental policy, stakeholder behavior, and ecological science. During the summer of 2013, Ben interned at the World Resources Institute, working on scaling up water quality trading, scoping environmental markets in the mountain west, and evaluating global investments in green infrastructure.

Ben spent his early childhood in south-central Germany’s state of Baden-Württemberg and grew up in Portland, Oregon. A graduate of Swarthmore College, he holds a degree in biology, with minors in environmental studies and music. After college, Ben spent one year at Yale’s partner university in Munich, the Technische Universität München, where he participated in seminars on international development, watershed processes, and sustainable resource management.
