Not only does a CBEY summer include exciting internships, sometimes, it also includes a trip to Switzerland. Beating out dozens of other teams from other business schools around the world, four joint degree students from SOM and FES won the chance to present their ideas at Nespresso headquarters in Lausanne in June for the second annual Nespresso Sustainability MBA Challenge. The team, made up of Sarah Wilson (Smith) (MBA/MEM '15), Heather West (MBA/MF '15), Brendan Edgerton (MBA/MEM '15), and Susannah Harris (MBA/MEM '16), will be one of three teams (the others are University of Michigan and Rollins College) showcasing their suggestions for how to improve Nespresso's sustainability strategies through the lens of "Creating Shared Value." In Lausanne, sustainability experts and Nespresso executives will judge the presentations, selecting one winning team to trek to Costa Rica, where they will observe the coffee supply chain in action, and put their insights to work.

Good luck to our Yale champs!
