Tommy Hayes is the Senior Manager for Policy Partnerships at Lyft. He works with partner organizations and government agencies to advance the equitable and sustainable mobility vision of the company. By filling the empty seats in cars, supplementing transit as a last-mile solution, and reducing reliance on personal vehicle ownership, Lyft aims to drive social, economic, and environmental progress through ridesharing.

While at Yale, Tommy spent the summer of 2012 with the Zero Emissions Resource Organisation in Oslo, Norway (“the electric vehicle capital of the world”), examining policy designed to spur the move to cleaner transportation choices. He spent the summer of 2013 in marketing at the Cleantech Group in San Francisco.

Prior to Yale, Tommy was an Associate Advocate at the Natural Resources Defense Council, working with its business partner group Environmental Entrepreneurs (E2) on a variety of federal and California policy. Tommy earned his B.S. in Environmental Science from the University of Notre Dame (2006) before completing the joint MEM/MBA at Yale.

Native to Oakland, CA, he is an enthusiast of swimming, live music, doughnuts, and lowbrow humor.
