She has over four years of experience in global environmental policy and multi-lateral environmental engagement. At ClimateWorks, Ruth manages the Non-CO2 Initiative’s campaign to reduce global greenhouse gas emissions and Black Carbon from maritime transportation and shipping. She also aids in coordinating strategic climate policy initiatives for the International Engagement portfolio and contributes technical assessments for grant-making.

Ruth graduated in 2017 with a Masters of Environmental Management from the Yale School of Forestry and Environmental studies, where she studied energy access, climate and environmental law. Prior to joining Yale, she worked as an Information Officer at the global headquarters of the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) in Nairobi where her work focused on strategic communications, media analytics and global environmental policy support. During this period, she also supported broader communication engagements for UNEP divisions, secretariats of Multi-lateral Environmental Agreements (MEAs), sub-programs and initiatives.

In 2016, Ruth worked as a summer associate with the Coalition for Green Capital, a 501 (3) (c) New York-based non-profit where she contributed to the structural establishment and operationalization of the Global Green Bank Network, in partnership with the Natural Resources Defense Council. The Global Green Bank Network is a membership organization that brings together Green-Bank and Green-Bank like entities to foster the exchange of knowledge and best practices on Green Banks with the ultimate aim of driving standardization of deal structures, contracts and metrics; increasing visibility and transparency of Green Banks; and tracking progress made with key indicators.

While at Yale, she served as co-chair of the Africa Students interest Group at FES and co-chair of the Yale Environmental Law Association (YELA)- FES Chapter.
