Philip Picotte
Philip Picotte is currently a Senior Analyst, Consulting at VEIC in Burlington, where he does quantitative, financial, and spatial analysis for energy efficiency, renewable energy, andtransportation. He received his Master of Environmental Management from Yale University in 2017, where he focused on energy and environmental economics. He was a research assistant with the Yale Center for Business & the Environment quantifying the feasibility of renewable thermal technologies in Connecticut.    In 2016, Philip served as an EDF Climate Corps Fellow at the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority, the public transit agency responsible for 1.3 million passenger trips daily. His work at the MBTA focused on reducing the agency’s 80 megawatt peak electric demand through cost-effective deployment of energy storage, demand response, and distributed generation. In addition, Philip outlined strategies for submetering facility and equipment loads to improve energy efficiency across the MBTA’s passenger stations and maintenance buildings.    Prior to attending Yale, Philip worked as a program associate at the Consortium for Energy Efficiency where he identified market transformation opportunities for energy-saving equipment in collaboration with natural gas utilities across the US and Canada. Previously, he served as a regional planner in rural Vermont with a focus on emergency management, hazard mitigation, and transportation and land use planning.  Philip holds an A.B. in geography and environmental studies from Middlebury College.
