MBA 2018
Josh Tom

Josh is currently a Lead Analyst, Leadership Development Program at National Grid in New York. He graduated with an MBA from the Yale School of Management, where he explored the intersection between clean energy, finance, and policy. He is particularly interested in the opportunities and challenges for financing and scaling renewable energy in emerging economies, where growing energy demand and economic needs will make climate-change-mitigation objectives more challenging in the coming decades.

In 2017, Josh was a Summer Associate working with the Operations and Finance team for the NY Green Bank (NYGB), a state-sponsored, specialized financial entity working with the private sector to increase investments into New York’s clean energy markets. While there, he conducted strategic analysis of NYGB’s investment portfolio and helped establish new criteria for its investment-selection process.

Prior to Yale SOM, Josh was Associate Director for The GailFosler Group, a strategic advisory firm, where he researched, wrote and consulted for businesses on the impact of global economic, financial and institutional trends and outcomes. He also spent two years teaching English in Barcelona, Spain and Shanghai, China, and interned at the American Chamber of Commerce in Beijing, China. He holds a B.A. in International Relations from USC.
