Jane Chu is formerly a Senior Analyst in CPI’s San Francisco office, where she leads sustainable city research for The Lab and provides secretariat support to the Cities Climate Finance Leadership Alliance. She has researched how climate innovations scale to market, as well as building an open online Knowledge Hub to support subnational climate project finance. Prior to joining CPI, Jane worked on climate and energy issues at the World Wildlife Fund, Environmental Defense Fund, Natural Resources Defense Council, International Council on Clean Transportation, and Energy Foundation. Jane has also consulted for the United Nations, Asian Development Bank, AECOM, WBCSD, Burning Man, and New York City on projects ranging from agriculture to oceans to industrial ecology. Jane started her career in China, where she was deeply involved with the civil society network that created the country’s first toxics release inventory. Jane is a recent graduate of the MBA/MEM Joint Degree program at Yale’s Schools of Management and the Environment. She also holds a Master’s in City Planning from MIT and a Bachelor’s in Economics from UC San Diego.
