Valuing Nature: Models of Ecosystem Valuation in Environmental Policy

Please join the Yale Center for Business and the Environment (CBEY) for the 2014-2015 season of "Nature’s Returns: Investing in Ecosystem Services". We are continuing our second mini-series on Valuation of Ecosystem Services. Here, we will highlight models and tools that quantify the value of ecosystem services and play an integral role in policy-making.

Katie Arkema, senior scientist at the Natural Capital Project, will complete the mini-series with her talk on Valuing Nature: Models of Ecosystem Valuation in Environmental Policy. Arkema will delve into the models used in the Natural Capital Project, examining the approaches and research underlying model results. Using the case study of Belize’s Coastal Zone Management Plan, Arkema will detail the potential of ecosystem valuation in guiding policy, furthering conservation while maintaining human well-being.
